Heat Stroke

So it has been awhile since I have posted...

I am in Iowa now and have been since July 5. Since that time, some things in life seem to be at a stand-still, like the job search. Other parts of being here have been fantastically nice.

Here is what I have been up to:

- The last week of June I went to Arizona for Wyldlife camp with a bunch of middle school kids. I found out that I was going about three days before the trip, but really enjoyed my time there. The bad thing is that, being a Young Life leader, and having been in Iowa since I came back, keeping up these relationships is difficult. The great news is that many new relationships with Christ were formed during our time there. I enjoyed our one-on-ones tremendously and met some really cool kids.

- 4th of July...went to a church picnic. No fireworks this year due to rain. Bummer.

- I went to Okoboji twice in the past 11 days. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being by a lake in the summer time...one huge thing that the Midwest has going for it over my other home.

- Finally had a second job interview with one of the schools I have been looking at. Why do schools take so long to hire you? I've been waiting out the same three jobs for the past two months. God is teaching me patience! A lot will work itself out in the next two or three weeks, even if it means I take a year off from teaching.

- Went shopping in Sioux Falls with my mom. We ate a Rue 41. Good restaurant. Saw Superman with my brother Ryan and his wife the same day. Good movie.

- Threw a bridal shower for Karla, one of my best friends from college. She and Aaron are finally getting married on July 29! I'm excited to stand up for them.

- I Started selling Mary Kay. Yes, I am officially in the make-up business. I'm only selling it to save myself money, but so far I have picked up three customers without doing anything. I see it as good training for that coffee shop I would love to open one day. :)

- Much, much, much, much more...Take care. And if you are in Iowa enjoy these crazy over 100 degree temperatures.
